Description

In this self-portrait, I decided to inhabit the iconic image of Nefertiti, one of history's most recognisable female faces. This is an actor’s transformation, where another's image becomes a way of exploring the self. The work explores identity through a queer lens, finding in Nefertiti's timeless, carefully constructed image a mirror for the ways we all perform, projecting a face for the world while the truth of who we are shifts beneath the surface.
