This sculpture is showing a patient young woman in late pregnancy, waiting, hoping all will go well a the birth. Evoking empathy from many women who have experienced carrying a child.
Worked in terracotta clay, fired and then patinated in various polishes and stains to reach colour desired. Mounted on a base of solid wood.
This piece is approximately half life-size.
