Description
Early Morning over Ragasthan brings an intense but soft light. The jumble of buildings are illuminated with a pearlescent glow. On closer look the deterioration and grubbiness of any urban spaces become apparent.
When I first saw this scene, I felt it was too complex for my abilities to be able to do it justice. After some time I asked myself how does this make you feel? Are you willing to recreate this without a perfect photographic rendering? Of course I can, that's what art is, recreating a mood, a feeling or an essence of what is sat in front of you. So setting about selecting structures and shapes, that ensures the viewer can share the same experience of the heights, depths and the evolution of this city as it has been developed. I was really pleased with the outcome, to me it felt the same, I can feel the early morning warmth, hear the city already awake and smell the spices and fumes that so many visitors to this city will recall. Of course the real residents, the Hanuman Langurs, are sat right in front of you awaiting your breakfast.
