Description
This was the first painting I painted after moving to Georgia. I experienced a tremendous sense of lightness and freedom, which is difficult to describe. I wanted to convey how I felt when I crossed the border between Russia and Georgia, as if a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders. All this was accompanied by the mystical entourage of the Georgian military road in the twilight and the massive silhouette of Mount Kazbek.
All the way, I was haunted by the feeling that I had returned home to Siberia, only this time it was a warm and pleasant winter like I had never experienced before. In the first few days, I walked a lot across Tbilisi and climbed the Narikala fortress. I really wanted to salute the view, and it welcomed me with a storm wind.
That day, I felt a completely new drive to create. And for me, this painting is a symbol of rebirth and a new beginning.
