Description
This is the 18c replacement for the Medieval church which just collapsed without warning one day. Workmen were blamed. Lovely church of its period which contains the tomb of George Abbot, a son of Guildford who became Archbishop of Canterbury in the reign of James I. He was a Greek scholar and led the team which translated the bible, known as the King James version. His tomb had obviously survived the collapse of the Medieval church
