Description
Raymond is ghostlike and ethereal, painted in pale blues and whites that soften his ordinary pose — a man with coffee — into something almost otherworldly. Brushwork is loose and layered, with translucent passages building presence through absence. Compact scuffles of colour add rhythm, reinforcing the strangeness of a moment made extraordinary. The sides remain raw, unpainted, a frame of process around spectral form. Raymond is a portrait of the uncanny in the everyday, an ordinary man rendered luminous and strange.
Jelly Buckingham’s paintings are held in private collections across Europe. Each work is supplied unframed, ready to hang, and comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity.
Condition note: Some slight marks of age along the outer edges (as painting was originally part of artist's own collection), visible on inspection but not detracting from the painting itself.
