An atmospheric winter scene of Vienna, beautifully transformed beneath a blanket of fresh snow. The quiet streets are brought to life by a traditional horse and cart making its way through the wintry city, while a couple hurry along together, wrapped against the cold.
The soft winter light reflects across the snow-covered street, creating a gentle, muted palette and a wonderful sense of depth and atmosphere. Against the historic architecture of Vienna, the horse and cart provide a charming connection to the city’s past, while the hurried figures add a touch of movement and everyday life to the peaceful surroundings.
Painted in my impressionistic style, I have aimed to capture not simply a particular moment in Vienna, but the feeling of a cold winter’s day in this beautiful European city — quiet, atmospheric and full of character.
