Clouds across the moon Watercolours

Clouds Across the Moon

Description

This striking watercolour painting depicts an imposing, gothic style old mansion enshrouded in a heavy winter night's snowfall. A full moon breaks softly through dark, swirling storm clouds, casting a hazy light over the scene. The mansion itself features sharp architectural spires and intricate balconies, with warm yellow light glowing from the arched windows, offering a stark and cozy contrast to the freezing landscape.
In the foreground, an open, snow dusted wrought iron gate welcomes the eye down a snow-laden path toward the entrance. Heavy, snow-capped evergreen trees flank the property, their textured branches weighed down by the storm. With a beautifully balanced palette of muted indigos, chilly greys and glowing ambers, the piece evokes a timeless sense of quiet solitude and winter mystery.
