Indian Elephant (Abruzzo Circus) Acrylic

One summer, whilst staying in Abruzzo, a region of Italy, we came across a small circus that had come to rest just off a provincial roundabout, and couldn't believe how close we could get to this elephant! She was grazing on the grasses and weeds at the side of the road, poking through to her side of the fence. An amazing experience to see such a majestic animal at close quarters! This painting of her is in acrylic on acid free 200gsm watercolour paper.
