It was a cold January night. A cold wind was blowing the snow into my face. I was sitting, waiting for the king to leave the hotel. The horse was kicking its legs in a very impatient way; I was fed up with waiting in the cold. What made things worse was I could see the roaring fires through the window, a group of men in bowler hats enjoying their brandy. I wish they would hurry up! I copied this image from an old photo of Ripon and made up the story. I have framed it. I will change it if you don't like it!
