Artistic background

I have always loved to paint. I did lack confidence in my ability in my earlier years and used to paint in secret. My preferred subject, initially, was portraits and I regularly subjected my family and friends to demands for sittings and then resorted to painting from photographs. The one thing I loved experimenting with was patterns, colours and textures. My painting took a back seat for a while when I started teaching mathematics, but my desire bubbled under the surface for years. Last year I made a decision to commit to devoting a significant amount of time to practicing my skills as an artist. I feel ready to put my work out there and use feedback to improve and perfect.
