Artistic background

An artist/printmaker working from a home studio in Sevenoaks, Kent.

Taking inspiration from my surroundings, I use photography, markmaking, illustration and collage to explore the world around me and create limited edition screen prints. All the artwork for my stencils is created using photography, hand-drawn illustrations and collage, and I hand print each edition with water-based inks on high quality 300gsm paper.

My paintings are built up with loose layers of mark making, pattern and texture - adding and removing the paint with a wide variety of tools. These unrestrained layers then give way to a more considered approach as I work towards completing the artwork.
My interest lies in the colours, patterns and textures created by the weathering of materials and I’m particularly influenced by the decoration and deterioration of walls and painted surfaces.
I mainly work with acrylic paint but many of my artworks are mixed media - including collage, spray paint, gold leaf and printmaking.
