Artistic background

Julie Anne is a British contemporary artist whose work is characterised by expressive colour, texture and a playful approach to form. Working primarily in acrylics oils and fused glass, she creates distinctive pieces inspired by nature, florals, landscapes, animals and the world around her.
Julie Anne has worked as a professional artist since 2006. Her career began with ceramics, sculptures later expanding into fused glass and painting. Over the years she has taught art and creative workshops to both children and adults, experiences which have encouraged the freedom and instinctive approach that remain an important part of her work today.
Her painting range from vibrant expressive compositions to softer, more understated pieces, often combining simplified forms, layered colour and texture. Rather than being confined to a single subject, Julie Anne is drawn to creating work that has personality and evokes a feeling - whether through abundant floral composition, a colourful landscape, a figure or an expressive animal.
Alongside her paintings, Julie Anne creates fused glass artwork. Each piece is individually designed, cut, assembled and kiln fired, with her architectural and city inspired glass pieces bringing together her love of colour and contemporary design.

Across both glass and canvas, her work shares the same aim: to create original art with warmth, character and a sense of joy.

Interests

Interests: My four children, grand children and our Brown Lab Hugo love walks. We are lucky enough to live near a large lake and enjoy our daily walks enjoying nature.
