Fiona Davidson
EdinburghArtistic background
Fiona enjoys painting landscapes both outdoors (plein air) and in the studio, the one practise informing the other. Her intention is to try and share a sense of how she sees the world around her, the muted ethereal landscapes evoke a sense of mystery and calmness, whilst subtly hinting at layers of drama. She started her training with the Edinburgh Atelier of Fine Arts, and then with Juliette Aristides via the Aristides Atelier.
Quote
'That is so recognisable, but it's the feeling of the place, not just a representation of it'said by a visitor during an open studios event.
Interests
Fiona came to the world of art comparatively late in life, having spent many years in the world of finance. She loves plein air work as it's an opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and paint. The weather can be challenging, especially in Scotland in winter, but it's worth it.
She also loves theatre, opera, ballet, reading, watching k-dramas, writing, cooking, travel. There is never a shortage of things to do, but it's always important to make time to paint.
