Brian Burgin
Ashford SurreyArtistic background
I am a professional artist and photographer who lives in a small town on the outskirts of London with my partner and daughter and her partnerI am inspired to paint by the beautiful nature all around us and I try to capture a moment in time when a tree casts a shadow forming a pattern that will never be repeated or the colours of a winter sunset on the sea , two of the many unique moments when you are out in nature .
I consider myself to be extremely lucky that I can continue with my art and that people enjoy my work .
My paintings are completed in oils on Italian plywood boards or Stretched canvas for larger works of art with a final varnish and usually framed ready to hang on your wall.
I also like to paint the occasional pastel , these are in frames and protected under glass, and i suspect some line and wash paintings will be produced in the future .
My style is photorealistic and as detailed as i can make them ,something that I have developed since my early teens .

Dear Mr Burgin I wanted to let you know how delighted I am with the painting which arrived yesterday. It brings to mind Rupert Brookes' poem 'Grantchester' (a favourite of mine); And, flower-lulled in sleepy grass, Hear the cool lapse of hours pass... Thank you so much for painting it. Kind regardsI love all of your paints and am so disappointed to have missed out on the flower meadow , maybe you will paint another one day
“The artist is a receptacle for emotions that come from all over the place: from the sky, from
the earth, from a scrap of paper, from a passing shape, from a spider’s web.” Pablo Picasso
Brian Burgin‘s paintings and photographic imagery (seen elsewhere), capture and uniquely translate ephemeral scenes of natural beauty through his detailed style. His clear delight in nature's beauty, from grasses, wildflowers, trees, fields, rivers, cliffs and seas is felt through his work. Enjoy!
