Artistic background

Having always had an interest in the natural world I use art to express my passion for wildlife, both British and the more exotic. I'm also inspired by music, people and places that have influenced me throughout my life, therefore my portfolio of work is eclectic. As well as wildlife you will find occasional examples of portraiture, still life, land and seascapes and more.

I finished school aged 16. At 17 I left home and joined the British army where my true education took place. I'm self taught at almost everything I do or have done and continue to learn each day. I now live on the Suffolk coast where I have a studio in my home. I work every day to the sound of loud blues or rock music. The rest of my time is spent out hiking with my dogs, wood carving or writing.

Quote

"We patronize them (animals) for their incompleteness, for their tragic fate for having taken form so far below ourselves. And therein do we err. For the animal shall not be measured by man. In a world older and more complete than ours, they move finished and complete, gifted with the extension of the senses we have lost or never attained, living by voices we shall never hear. They are not brethren, they are not underlings: they are other nations, caught with ourselves in the net of life and time, fellow prisoners of the splendour and travail of the earth.”
