Artistic background

Fen D'Lucie undertook Art History & Drawing at college in Somerset. On leaving college her art was put on hold for many years whilst working for employers in unrelated streams. In the early 2000's she returned to art for pleasure and inviting dog portrait commissions. In 2016 Fen took early retirement allowing time to diversify from 2D into sculpture, learning from a range of styles & teachers: clay sculpture courses in Somerset & Devon with further courses on wax modelling in Dorset, where she now lives. Fen has received several awards in Open exhibitions in the South West Region. In 2025 Fen had an abstract bronze accepted for display with The Royal Society of Marine Artists' annual exhibition, Mall Galleries London. Also in 2025 one of Fen's life model bronze figures was accepted for display with ING Discerning Eye's annual exhibition, Mall Galleries London. Inspiration is never too far away from the living world. Her sculptures, both representational and abstract, are cast in Bronze at Art of Fine Nature Foundry, Somerset.

Interests

A life long interest in fitness. Fen was a Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor for several years. Her knowledge and understanding of anatomy and physiology gives her sculpture true depth.
Fen also loves wildlife and nature. Her abstract work particularly can be inspired by her interest in Bryophytes. These tiny vegetative mosses and liverworts she finds fascinating.
