Artistic background

Having grown up on the northern slopes of the Balkan range and in close proximity to the sea, my love and passion for nature grew tremendously. I started painting landscapes and investigating oil painting techniques by using existing knowledge and skills from my tempera painting practice.

As a teenager, I studied iconography at the National High School of Fine Arts in Bulgaria. I won a national art competition in 2010 from the National Palace of Culture. In 2021, I received an HND in Art and Design from David Game College, London. Since graduating I have been invited to exhibit at The Holy Art Gallery, London and at Under The Rainbow Events in Bluewater Shopping Centre, Greenhithe for their Spring and Winter Exhibition in 2022. Most recently, I was invited to exhibit my work in the Royal Society of British Artists for their 200th Annual Exhibition in Mall Galleries, London. Some of my artworks are currently exhibited at the The Drawing Rooms Venue & Gallery, West Malling for their Summer exhibition.

I often wonder what the land has witnessed prior to my discovery. I am fascinated by what memories others have created years past or even centuries past. I wonder how many of these memories go untold and which ones I am unaware of. I reflect on my own memories as well.

My paintings transform reality and reflect on the inner self by exploring the psychological role that nature plays in our everyday lives.
I express the beauty, emptiness, rawness, and sheer power of nature by using oil paint.

My inspiration comes from my personal encounters while travelling, with various aspects of nature, including mountains, seas, woods, rivers, and the sky.

I am constantly developing my technique to explore the juxtaposition and interrelationship of contrasting forms and textures, revealing the beauty of nature. I like to create a sense of drama and a feeling of movement in my work.
I want to represent reality, but show how it shifts in relation to both light and remembered experience.

Interests

I love spending time in nature and I enjoy long walks with my dogs. Travelling around the world and discovering new places has become my obsession. I love exploring new cultures and meeting new people, but I also love spending time on my own, reading books and learning more about myself, the world and other people's stories.
I love yoga and meditation. I have interests in anything related to the universe and archeology.
