Artistic background

I am mainly self-taught; and have recently returned to painting after a long break whilst my children were young. In 2022, I entered the Sketch for Survival art competition; I was delighted that out of over 3000 entries from around the world, my painting was chosen to be part of the Highly Commended selection. Another recent highlight has been having two paintings included in an auction at a charity fundraising gala in Tulsa, Oklahoma, for the Outsiders House Museum.

I love to use vibrant colours and simple, uncluttered compositions for my pictures, which are always inspired by nature. I tend to look at a variety of images to get a feel for the area I would like to depict, then paint mainly from my imagination.
