Artistic background

I have been painting for over 25 years. I am 78 yrs of age, an English lady living in Ireland. I am self taught but I have studied art, taken courses and I am still learning how art can change your life. After all wasn't it Claude Monet who said it isn't necessary to understand when it is simply necessary to love.
To date, over the years I have sold over 500 pieces of artwork worldwide. I have taught art to children, local active age group clubs and one to one. I have also judged art competitions. I have been successful with judged entries for exhibitions. Also one of my pieces for the Sligo Small Works Exhibition toured Ireland. I have also done several commissions.
I have my own studio which is a godsend and as soon as I enter there, I am transported to my art world.
I do not stick to one style or one medium. Oils are my favourite, followed by watercolour and acrylics. I love to try different things and different styles so I experiment all the time. I would get bored painting in the same style. I love the freedom of painting whatever I like on the day and I love thinking of new ideas to stretch my abilities as an artist. I sometimes get asked what my favourite painting and I always say the one I will do tomorrow
