Description
I've always been fascinated by steam trains and can even remember travelling on them as a youngster! When I received a photograph of the world famous Flying Scotsman traversing the viaduct in Slawit (Slaithwaite) in Huddersfield, I had no hesitation in painting it in a semi impressionistic style.
Using both acrylics and pastels, I've tried to create a sensation of presence and power of this iconic example of great British engineering in an old industrial setting.
