Description
Original oil on canvas painting, finished in August 2026, 61x51 cm. Reality with hyperreal details. The landscape surrounding the Glenfinnan viaduct features a breathtaking autumn scenery of Scottish Highlands, including the large freshwater Loch Shiel, snowy mountains, hills with peat bogs, heathland, woodlands, and viaduct itself - the “Hogwarts express bridge”. Glenfinnan originates from the Scottish Gaelic - Gleann Fhionnain, which means "glen of the white meadow" or "Fingon's glen". The name is associated with both the landscape and historical figures. Gleann (glen) and Fhionnain (white meadow/field) referred to as the valley of St. Finnan, and 'Fingon's Glen' referencing to a 14th-century Abbot of Iona and its connection to the Clan Mackinnon. The location is famously known as the site where Prince Charles Edward Stuart raised his standard to begin the 1745 Jacobite Rising. Varnished.
