Description
Original oil on canvas painting, finished in July 2026, 61x51 cm. Reality with hyperreal details. The Old Man of Storr is a part of dramatic ancient landslide complex on the Isle of Skye in Scotland. The entire area of jagged, detached pinnacles sitting in front of the main cliffs is collectively known as "The Sanctuary”. Needle rock and the Storr are geological remnants of volcanic activity, formed by ancient landslides that created bizarre rock formations, most prominent pinnacle and iconic destination in Scotland. In Gaelic it is known as - Bodach an Stòrr. "Storr" comes from Old Norse (meaning "large man"), the rock looks like the face of a craggy, elderly man from specific angles. The landscape features astonishing sunset, rugged basalt cliffs, misty and sweeping highland hills, colourful land stones, and is famous for filming such movies like ‘Prometheus’, ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’, and ‘Stardust’. Varnished.
