Description
Original oil on canvas painting, finished in May 2026, 51x41 cm. Reality with hyperreal details. Quiraing is an active, massive landslide formed by volcanic rock spreading over weak stone located on the Trotternish peninsula in Scotland. A hidden, elevated grassy plateau inside the rocky landscape, historically used to hide cattle from Viking riders. Quiraing originates from the Old Norse words Kví Rand (or Kvi Hringr), which means "Round Fold". The name describes particularly flat, hidden, and circular plateau known as "The Table," which is surrounded by high, craggy rock pillars, making it nearly invisible from below. Geological features of the Quiraing, and dramatic sunset create a magnificent view of the very distinctive landmark. The landscape is famous for filming such movies like ‘Macbeth’, ‘The Last Knight’, ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’, and ‘Stardust’. Varnished.
