A raven is perched on a post and watching intently. The look is slightly menacing as this black bird stares into the distance. I wanted to capture the slightly frightening demeanor that these birds have, which is why I have given the painting a dark and somewhat threatening background.
I have painted the edges of the canvas in a dark colour so that the artwork can be hung on the wall without a frame if desired.
