I painted this contemporary botanical watercolour to explore the contrast between delicate summer wildflowers and a bold, dramatic background. Soft pink and blue flower heads are carried on slender, intertwining stems that create a natural rhythm across the composition, while the deep black background allows the colours to stand out with clarity and vibrancy. Fine gold calligraphic marks introduce an abstract element that complements the organic forms without distracting from them, adding depth and visual interest.
