Westminster Twilight Watercolours

Westminster Twilight
Westminster Twilight is an evocative impressionistic multimedia painting that beautifully encapsulates the romance, energy, and timeless mood of London on a stormy night.
Standing proudly as the focal point, the illuminated clock tower of Big Ben cuts through the cool, misty indigo and charcoal washes of the evening sky. A wet-on-wet watercolour technique to render the slick, rain washed streets, transforming the foreground into a shimmering mirror of warm amber, gold, and red light. Opaque gouache details provide striking architectural structure to the surrounding buildings and bring out iconic British symbols, including a classic red double decker bus and a traditional telephone box.
Populated by loosely silhouetted pedestrians under umbrellas, this piece balances moody urban weather with a cozy, glowing warmth.
