Description
This abstract painting, titled "The Core of the Storm," is my first creation after winning the battle against breast cancer. It captures the transition from profound darkness to brilliant hope. The turbulent, deep blues and blacks at the bottom of the canvas represent the overwhelming storm and chaos of a cancer journey. These heavy layers give way to a breathtaking opening of bright blues and whites, symbolizing the moment the clouds part and a new path emerges. The striking gold accents weave throughout the composition, highlighting the resilience and preciousness of life that endures and shines through even the most difficult experiences. This piece is a testament to survival, strength, and the beautiful, raw beginning of life on the other side of the storm.
Created with thick, expressive brushstrokes and palette knife work (impasto), the surface of the painting is heavily textured, adding a tactile, three-dimensional quality that catches the light dynamically.
