Moonlight Serenade Oil

A large striking original painting, gallery wrapped presentation so does not require framing because the painted image is continued around the edges.

The light from a full moon can be particularly powerful especially when combined with the reflections from the water. And another interesting element is provided by the patterns of the waves, almost abstract at times, as they come towards the shore.

This original oil painting is on linen canvas which provides a surface that suits my painting technique. A fairly smooth surface is achieved with additional brushwork, almost impressionistic in style, evident to help convey the movement of the clouds and water.
