Description
This painting is inspired by the abandoned crofts found around Caithness and Sutherland. They can be spotted throughout the Scottish Highlands. I had hoped to capture nature's reclamation of the once-worked land and the machinery left behind.
The Flagstone slab walls are commonly seen throughout Caithness, dating back to a time when Caithness stone was exported worldwide before the invention of concrete.
