Description
Constructing Memory
Mixed media on 400gsm paper
50 × 70 cm - 2025
“Constructing Memory” is part of the Under the Skin of Memory collection and explores how personal and collective memories are built, preserved, and transformed over time. The work juxtaposes two contrasting worlds: on the right, ancestral Romanian embroidery patterns from the Oltenia region evoke deep-rooted traditions and cultural continuity, while on the left, fragments of urban maps (a London tube plan, Las Vegas street grids, high-rise buildings, and scaffolding) suggest the ongoing construction of modern life. This dialogue reflects themes of migration, adaptation, and the layered identities we inherit and create.
Created in mixed media on heavy 400gsm paper (acrylic, ink, textured gesso, collage, graphite, and watercolor pencils), the piece is signed on the front, signed and stamped on the back.
It is sold unframed, professionally fixed and sealed with a matte finish.
The artwork is accompanied by an official Certificate of Authenticity issued by i-CAC (France), an internationally recognized registry of professional artists. Delia Zorzoliu is officially listed with a professional valuation index, and the price of this work is set in accordance with her certified i-CAC evaluation, offering collectors verified market value and full transparency.
