Description

Following a recent holiday on a canal barge on the Lancaster canal, I've been reading up about the history of barges in the UK. During my studying, I came across sailing barges which are magnificent boats.
This inspired the painting of sailing barges on the Thames.
The sky is quite angry and the river is choppy, but the barges are in full sail taking their cargo to its destination.
