Description

This is an original framed encaustic painting a Scottish mountain range and wildflowers. Encaustic work is an ancient method of painting which involves fusing wax, hardening agent and pigments with heat. I have applied thick layers of pigment and hot wax to indicate the sky and the mountains in the distance. I have then applied thinner layers in the foreground and painted the wildflowers using a variety of painting knives. I've scratched into the warm wax and oils using old nails to create texture and interest.

Some key features of this encaustic painting include:

- This is an original, one-off, oil and wax painting on sealed cradled panel board.

- The art work is presented in a contemporary wooden frame.

- It is ready to hang or can be free standing.

- Total size is 33 x 28 x 3.5 cms.

- I have called this painting, ‘Losing My Sense Of Direction.’

- I have signed the painting at the back. Also included is a note of authentication, signed by me, Susan Betty.

- Free shipping.

Care for encaustic paintings: As with all original paintings, keep encaustic artwork out of direct sunlight.

This original framed painting will be posted by first class Royal Mail. The artwork will be covered with glassine paper before it is carefully encased in bubble wrap (or equivalent). It will then be secured in a heavy duty mailing box.
