Where Cool Waters Flow Oil

This is a framed mixed media painting. It features mountains, a loch and wildflowers in the Cairngorms, Scotland. I have painted the sky and mountains using sweeping, fast brushstrokes with hot wax and oil paints. The wildflowers are abstract in nature and I've used a painting knife to apply layers of acrylic paint to give the impression of volume and density. In the foreground I have embedded some text into the wax before applying layers of oil paint.
