Artistic background

My name is Julia Birtwistle. I am a mixed media artist. I mostly work in acrylics on canvas. I have a ‘thing’ for metallics and you will nearly always find something shiny or textured in my art.
However, I love water colours as well. they are so much easier to travel with.
Recently one of my wildlife paintings, an abstract Cheetah, was chosen for an exhibition in London. It was to highlight the plight of the Asian Cheetah which is endangered. I was extremely honoured.

Interests

I love to travel as often as I can and often my photos provide inspiration for my paintings. I am very lucky to have visited Australia, Africa, South America, China, Japan, South east Asia, and Costa Rica. however India is still on my bucket list.
