Artistic background

I have always loved to paint and draw. Born in Yorkshire, I attended Nuneaton School of Art and Coventry Art College. I now live with my wife by the Suffolk coast. I paint mostly in acrylics on canvas but I also work with other mediums and I like to keep a flexible approach to my subjects. I have exhibited and sold paintings in various galleries in Essex and Suffolk.

I am currently working on a form of abstract figurative painting which combines vivid impasto layers applied with a palette knife with the more realistic treatment of a female figure, blending them together to create a harmonious artwork. It has taken many years to arrive at this stage of my artistic journey.
