Andrada Anghel

Artistic background

I am Andrada Anghel, a Montreal-based Canadian abstract artist working from my studio in Laval, Quebec.

My work is deeply influenced by my love of the ocean and the underwater world. I am fascinated by coral reefs and their extraordinary colours, textures, shapes, and movement. As an avid lover of the colours found underwater, I often bring this experience into my paintings through rich colour combinations, layered textures, and fluid compositions.

My approach to abstraction is intuitive and material-driven. I work with layers of paint and texture, allowing the painting to evolve organically rather than following a predetermined image. Nature, water, reefs, landscapes, and the feeling of being immersed in an underwater environment are recurring sources of inspiration.

Over the years, my paintings have been exhibited and represented by galleries in the Montreal area and have found homes with collectors in Canada, the United States, Europe, and beyond. Today, I focus primarily on my studio practice and on creating original works for collectors, galleries, and art platforms.
