Artistic background

I was born in London, brought up in Essex and now living in Scotland. I am basically a self taught artist although I have received tuition from many professional tutors and have attended several workshops and art courses over the years.
A few years ago I did a Pet Portrait Diploma Course with the London School of Art where I was rewarded a pass with Distinction.
I have been drawing and painting since a very early age and after early retirement from my Personal Assistant office work in a large office I was able to spend a great deal of time experimenting with various techniques and materials. I have always had a love for animals, pets and wild life and this was the subject that grabs my attention. My favourite mediums are oil paints and pastel pencils.

Interests

I like painting on wood slices, creating small pictures on real wood slices. I like doing many varied crafts when time permits including, creating mini albums/journals, patchwork and quilting and gardening (when the Scottish weather permits).
