Artistic background

Hi! I am an award-winning artist (for mainly realism art) and have been painting professionally for fifteen years. My preferred medium is oil and acrylic. My work has been featured in art magazines (including Artist & Illustrator) and in 2024 I was a finalist in The International Artist Magazine for my still life painting, Rosemary’s Baby.
Painting in this way can be very rigid and very time consuming; with my abstract florals I can be more expressive and free with my painting tools and can use my imagination to create art that makes me happy, something I hope transfers to the canvas and onto the viewer.
This process is much more intuitive and quite often the piece itself will guide me to where the next mark will go. It is a very liberating way to create and I love it.
Being self-taught, I have had no external influences telling me which direction I should or should not take and I feel that this freedom has led to a very personal, organic creative path which I feel comes from somewhere within me. I absolutely believe that this freedom to explore and find my own way is the best gift I could have been given as an artist, and one that is constantly evolving.
