ExeterArtistic background
I have been drawing and painting all of my life. My work is most often informed and inspired by the beautiful natural landscape around me. I work mainly in abstract and semi abstract, as I love the freedom of expression and exploration this gives me. Oil is one of my favourite mediums as it develops as it dries to produce some beautiful, vibrant effects and colour mixes, but I also really enjoy acrylic paint, as it's fast drying and is ideal for the layered work I produce. I also like to make interesting marks with charcoal, paint and pens, as well as making stencils for motifs. Many of my pieces explore emotions, words, choices and pathways, linked to nature, light and colour. I wanted my most current pieces to be joyful and fun and have used a lot of vibrant colour and playful shapes and blocks to achieve this.Member of National Association of Acrylic Painters (NAPA)
