Description

I was inspired to use red tones whilst glimpsing sunlight shining through the late summer sorrel leaves and a trackway near my home. The red, pink and orange tones linked to the title cut from newspaper and incorporated into the work first by abstraction using charcoal in the layers of the work and later by incorporating the newsprint letters. I used oils in opaque and transparent layers using spatter and pouring as well as brush work.
