Description
I am very inspired by the many old structures found around the Highlands. Some of these are hundreds of years old and have survived the elements that the north of Scotland throws at them. It's amazing to think that everything created was often built without modern machinery, and that the workers often had to rely solely on brute strength to accomplish their tasks.
This Oil Painting depicts the 18th-Century Cattle Drovers ' Bridge in the Far Northern Highlands village of Latheronwheel. While it is still structurally very sound, modern routes and transport have taken over, consigning bridges like this to history.
