Description
Blue Mountain Landscape, Isle of Skye, Scotland, is one of many paintings or drawings I have created lately. So here we have a drawing. I love to use coloured pencils outdoors. It is easier than juggling with paints outside. Mainly, I paint with acrylics and these dry FAST! Especially outdoors in wind and sunshine. You can't paint as fast as the open paints would dry!
I love coloured pencils, not only for plain air projects. Using the right paper, like for this artwork, I used Claire Fountain Pastel Mat, where the toothy paper holds lots of colour; this makes creating an artwork an absolute pleasure. By the way, it took me forever to find the right paper quality for my drawings.
Blue Mountain, Isle of Skye Landscape is an original, realistic drawing.
Materials: oil-based coloured pencils, "Polychromos" by Faber-Castell, Derwent Studio Pencils, varnish for drawings, a sheet of heavy specialist paper
Style: realism influenced by impressionism
Size: 35 x 25 x 0.2 cm; the artwork itself is 33 x 23 cm; this leads to a clean margin around the image as a preparation for a mounting mat
This artwork is not framed.
The 2nd image shows how the drawing can look in a frame and hanging on a wall.
