I painted When the Sun Says Goodnight in a moment when the day felt especially peaceful— when the sun was slipping down, the water was holding the sky, and everything seemed to pause just long enough to be noticed.

There’s something quietly magical about this place for me… the still lake, the gentle line of the dam, the soft glow moving across the water like a golden thank you from the day itself. It felt calm, yes — but also quietly joyful, like a secret smile shared between the light and the land.
