Part of the Meditation in Light series, Sky in Acceptance is an invitation to pause within a moment of profound stillness, where light gently dissolves into the sky and peace quietly settles over the landscape.
Painted intuitively in acrylic on canvas, this original artwork explores the beauty that emerges when we release resistance and simply allow ourselves to be present. The expansive sky, filled with soft blues, luminous creams and delicate pinks, reflects across tranquil water, creating an atmosphere that feels both spacious and deeply restorative.
Unlike a traditional landscape that seeks to portray a particular place, Sky in Acceptance is an emotional landscape. It is inspired by those moments when the outer world mirrors an inner experience of calm, reminding us that acceptance is not about giving up, but about discovering peace in the present moment. The gentle pink tones emerged naturally during the painting process, bringing warmth and compassion into the composition and transforming the sky into a quiet expression of hope and unconditional love.
The simplicity of the composition allows the viewer to breathe. Broad passages of luminous sky contrast with subtle reflections on the water, while expressive brushwork preserves the spontaneity and energy of the painting. Every layer was built intuitively, responding to light rather than to a predetermined image, allowing the work to evolve naturally until it reached a place of quiet balance.
Sky in Acceptance forms part of my ongoing Meditation in Light series, a body of work exploring light as a universal language of healing, contemplation and connection. Each painting in the series seeks to create a sanctuary of stillness within the home, offering a place where the viewer can return again and again to experience a sense of spaciousness, hope and inner peace.
