Description
Historic View of the Demolished Ferrybridge Power Station, Knottingley by Pontefract is an original acrylic artwork on paper.
In this acrylic piece, I’ve depicted a historic view of the Power Station just prior to its demolition in 2022. The foreground showcases vast brown fields, which contrast beautifully with the lush green surroundings. The station rises prominently in the center, with its architecture reflecting a bygone era. In the background, a few charming houses are visible among the trees, contributing a sense of community to the landscape. My intention was to express both the strength and nostalgia of this landmark, providing viewers a look into its history while being surrounded by the beauty of nature and daily life.
Materials: professional-grade acrylics, acid-free, age-resistant Hahnemuhle paper (450g per square meter, 210 lbs)
