Tribute to M.C. Escher Collage

Postage Stamp Collage
This tribute to M.C. Escher is based on a small 1948 woodcut printed from four blocks. Entitled ‘Sun and Moon’ being the day time when the sun shines with dark birds and fourteen light coloured birds that fly against a crescent moon filled starry night. Over one thousand five hundred grey postage stamps complement several hundred British definitive purple stamps with the corners decorated with four larger purple stamps to depict the late H.R.H. Queen Elizabeth 11.
