Description
An original watercolour picture on Daler-Rowney Bockingford water paper 140lbs.
A brilliantly constrasting white-headed bird with a rich aquamarine belly
sits boldly out in the open.
Rollers are a group of mainly old world tropical birds that thrive in savanna
biomes.
It is rare for birds to have such bold colours, but rollers, although relatively
small in size, (similar in size to a jackdaw) these birds can afford to do so.
They are very agile and are armed with a hook on the end of the bill.
Rollers are more than able to look after themselves.
The sit on low bushes and fence posts to hunt for anything they can
overpower.
Rodents, small snakes, lizards, scorpions and even small birds are
on the menu.
Enough of the nature lesson.
