Description
Two rose mallow flowers which I saw in Wisley Gardens. This is a pastel drawing.
I used pan pastels and pastel pencils to create this piece of art.
I first used a white charcoal pencil to draw the outline of the flowers. I then used pan pastels with a sponge firstly and then different tools to cover in the background as well as pastel pencils which were used to draw in the detail of the leaves.
The flowers were also shaded in by using pan pastels and pastel tools, then the detail was created by using pastel pencils.
The card is called Clairefontaine pastelmat card, it’s my goto when using pastels as I find the pastel clings well to it.
I have left a border so when framing you don’t touch the pastel, although I have fixed this with a spray the art can still be smudged and damaged.
