A cityscape, depicting the southern end of Shambles in the city of York, UK.
This is one of a three part set painted in oils on a canvas faced plyboard. It is set in a plain white wooden frame.
The whole image is designed to give a surreal feeling to what is usually a very busy tourist environment. A limited colour palette is used to highlight the glimpses of sunshine that manage to penetrate the tall buildings in a very narrow street.
